Since the beginning of this, our first year of having gone public as a label, we have released 18 projects from different artists. We’ve put out 14 EPs, 2 compilations and 2 albums. We’ve found new friends, tried new things and had some ups and downs. Ultimately, we’re satisfied with the result. We are really grateful to our listeners who joined us along the way, and the many talented artists we have signed this year.
We have decided to give this EP away for free, as a celebration of the end of this year and Christmas, as well as to help someone make their first steps into releasing their own music on a label.
Meet Jon Cooke, a producer and singer-songwriter from the UK. During this year of discovering new music, we have found a perfect rule of thumb for our label: it’s not only the production that makes a track great. What most people think about when entering the domain of electronic music production for the first time is, surprisingly, not the music itself, not its melodic content, but the sound design.
Many producers place too much emphasis on their sound design and neglect the rarer treasures of writing and arrangement, especially when starting out. Learning sound design however, is only a matter of time and exploration, especially for those who already have skill in music theory, composition and mixing. As he learns, Jon’s name will start to appear more and more on different platforms, and believe us, time flies fast when learning and exploring.
I subscribed for Kursd Earth for Denied. 40 seconds into it on full blast I yelled to my girlfriend, "Automatically worth the monthly fee!" Thank you, and I'm happy to contribute to your well being. <3 cycleswithincycles
