Being touched by a composition.

One of the main factors in music as art is communication with the listener through the ideas the of composer, no matter how it is: aesthetically, sonically, structurally/compositionally, melodically/chordally/through modality and modulations or all of these aspects in one. Music has still to offer more than billion approaches, techniques and elements to writing music, as much as there are people alive on earth.

Meet Jacob Skovsboll, producer, guitarist, drummer, sounddesign student and promising talent from Denmark. His approach is quite simple, being surrounded by just a computer, microphone and midi controller, he pulls out one of the most alive and sonically captivating styles out there, his own mark of the sound, full of freedom, rhythm, texture and melodic content to your soul.

First and foremost we have interlude: Mirrors Part 1 and Part 2 that open two perspectives on the album: ambient/soundtrack and organic/acoustic abstract electronica. Proceeding tracks, such as Reflections and Touched, and the second pair of the tracks, Longing and Karmic Orbits depict this relationship and play through an almost an entirety of the LP, perfectly gliding between each other and switching between these two different perspectives and have a structural, narrative purpose, going from something almost static and longing to continue forever to something conctrete, with percussion/foley-oriented rhythmical hooks, tribal rhythms and fixed idea for it to be brought to ashes again.
U'n'i, the seventh track, completely changes the movement and pacing, having all the tracks after that stick to something constantly progressing and hypnotizing, until arriving home with symbolically named track "Arrive", after a journey through one's mind, somewhere far away from our everyday life.
