about

Silent Science - Contact Light EP

"Are we losing emotion? Has technicality overtaken us?"

Surprisingly, when "professional" musicians think about music, they think about an emotional response instead of some unimportant details. But, what comes with the joy of making music, depends from person to person. Even referencing someone else's works in one's own work has been a tradition for quite a while... 400 hundred years or so. Such things can be represented with sampling, cantus firmus / contrafact, "lick", "changes", parody and other techniques of music reference.

Taking some inspiration from all different sources and techniques, Alexandra, also known as Silent Science presents an EP of tracks that have all of these things combined in one. "Have I heard this before?" This feeling of dejavu, nostalgia and confusion will visit you on each and individual track. Remember, good music or new genre appear from all previous inspirations that one had, creating a movement for others to follow and contribute, growing with each step and second of it's life. Inspired by such artists as Sorrow, Chee, Alon Mor, Clockvice, Mr. Bill and more, Silent Science brings a multi-genre EP that surprises you with each track. Covering genres from Dubstep to IDM to Garage to Chillout to Halftime, this EP is a trip to the world of waveforms, inspirations and abstract ideas.

Alexandra also hopes that this EP will inspire you to experiment more with music and compositional techniques and not only searching for sound design gimmick, there is a whole sonic world of waves and harmonics to explore. One millisecond of sound is an atom that can be combined to create any sound in existence.
